The Stephen R. Baum Foundation, Inc. is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization founded to support adults an children afflicted with neuromuscular disease and mobility problems. The Stephen R. Baum foundation's primary focus is to help people get needed equipment and support on a timely basis.

Stephen R. Baum Foundation
Despite the ravages of Muscular Dystrophy, Stephen R. Baum courageously fought to remain independent and mobile. Steve's battle was made more challenging by the high cost and difficulty of obtaining equipment.
There are many gaps in financial assistance for people afflicted with neuromuscular disease and mobility problems. Insurance and Medicare place restrictions and limits on equipment and treatment
National organizations, such as the Muscular Dystrophy Association spends only 9 percent of its annual revenue providing specific assistance to individuals suffering from neuromuscular disease. While organizations are making great progress towards finding cures for neuromuscular diseases, patients are left sharing the increased financial burden of treatment related and equipment expenses.
- Assistance with the purchase of wheelchairs to maintain independence and mobility
- Assistance with the purchase of ramp vans to maintain independence, mobility and gainful employment
- Assistance with installing appropriate adaptive equipment to ramp vans
- Assistance with other treatment related and equipment expenses as needed
Stephen's dream of a cure, his positive, hopeful, upbeat and humorous attitude and his commitment to remain mobile and independent, live on through the work of the Stephen R. Baum Foundation.
The Stephen R. Baum Foundation is supported entirely by private and corporate contributions. The Foundation is a 100 percent volunteer organization and donations are 100 percent tax deductible.
